Janet Chan, MLIS, AHIP, RN

Hi! I am Janet Chan. I am a Research and Education Librarian at the University of South Florida Health Libraries and Liaison to the College of Nursing. I have served as the FHSLA Blog Editor since December 2019 and am so excited to start working with the new Blog Committee. Before I was a librarian, I worked as an RN for 10 years so serving the College of Nursing feels like a perfect fit for me. My research interests include graphic medicine, wellness, and bibliotherapy. Outside of work, I love reading, skiing, and spending time with my family.

Mindy Berg, MLIS, AHIP

Hi, I’m Mindy Berg. I am the Cataloging and Metadata Librarian at the University of South Florida Health Libraries: the Shimberg Health Sciences Library and the Florida Blue Health Knowledge Exchange. I am a 2019 graduate of the USF School of Information and hold a certificate in Digital Asset Management from Rutgers University.  Previously, I was a librarian at Pasco-Hernando State College and Hillsborough County Public Libraries. What feels like a lifetime ago, I worked as an inventory analyst in television advertising. My research interests include workplace wellness for library workers, issues facing early career and second career librarians, and the intersection of art and design with the health sciences. I am also a science fiction/fantasy nerd, love superhero movies, and am the proud mom of two teenage sons.

Courtney Pyche, MS

Hi! I'm Courtney Pyche, and I'm the Public Health Liaison Librarian at the University of Florida Health Science Center Library. I received my Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the University of Florida, and completed my Master of Science in Information with Florida State University. I previously worked as a children’s librarian for the Alachua County Library District and was a graduate assistant for the Florida State University STEM Libraries. My research interests include public and academic library partnerships, health information and social media, and the relationship between literacy and health. In my free time, I enjoy catching up on reading for fun and traveling as often as possible with my husband and son. I'm most excited to blog about outreach and programming partnerships between libraries across Florida.
